Wenger receives Gibbs support

Arsenal full-back Kieran Gibbs has described Arsene Wenger's record as 'incredible' and insisted the players remain fully behind the manager.

Wenger has come under pressure following three Premier League defeats already this season, although he has received the backing of chief executive Ivan Gazidis.

The Frenchman also insisted that he would be happy to stay with the Gunners for 'another 14 years' after watching his side survive a Carling Cup scare against Shrewsbury on Tuesday.

Gibbs scored against the League Two side to help Arsenal come from behind and win 3-1, before voicing his support for Wenger.
"We have to stand up and not hide if the results don't go our way,

"We'll see it change. It has not been the easiest of months.

"But the team is together and you can see from the stats of the games that what we are doing is right - but we are not getting the results.

"What Arsene Wenger has done is incredible. We are 100 per

cent behind him."
Unbelievable

Arsenal currently occupy 17th place in the league and have the worst defensive record, with 14 goals conceded in their opening five matches.

Gibbs recognises that considerable improvements need to be made at the back but is confident they will soon turn the corner.

"We bring a lot of trouble on ourselves at times but it happens. At the minute we make one mistake and it's a goal," said the 21-year-old.

"It's unbelievable how it has affected us but I'm sure we'll overcome it."
